Their peaceful existence was cut short with the death of their mother. The son, Eleuterio S\u00e1nchez, &#8220;El Lute&#8221;, steals some chickens and is sentenced to six months in jail. Five years later, in 1965, &#8220;el Lute&#8221; is arrested after robbing a jewelry store in Madrid in which a security guard dies. Although at first he is sentenced to death, the sentence is commuted to life imprisonment.
