Due to a dispute with the local chief, Juan ends up in jail. Then his wife leaves the village on which he seems to have a curse. When, three years later, Juan finds her with another man in her tavern, he forces her to return home and keep up appearances until her grandfather&#8217;s death. Second version of the film of the same name also directed by Flori\u00e1n Rey (1930) and which was considered the best silent movie of Spanish cinema.
