Within its walls, there are monuments from centuries past that have hardly been altered, such as the Roman Arch, the Plaza Mayor, the Convent of Santa Isabel and the Ducal Palace. Its Roman arch, the only one of triple-span preserved in the entire Iberian Peninsula, appears in the first minutes of <em>El poema del M\u00edo Cid<\/em>. It was also the location chosen by Sergio Leone for the filming of <em>Gi\u00f9 la testa (Once Upon a Time in the Revolution)<\/em><em>.<\/em> Declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1964 and one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain in 2013, Medinaceli has a privileged location at 1,210 m in the Alto Jal\u00f3n, between the Duero, Ebro and Tajo basins, in the foothills of the Central System.
