It occupies a large area spread across several municipalities in both the province of Burgos and the Cantabrian region. It is an example of a mixed forest dominated by sessile oak, but also includes beech, holly, alder, birch, and hazel trees, as well as some impressive and majestic ancient yew trees. Numerous species of birds and mammals inhabit this magnificent Atlantic forest.    \n\nThis area is included in the Natura 2000 Network and has been declared a Site of Community Importance (SCI).","localizacion_rutas":"Bordering Cantabria is Monte Hijedo.
