The cloister was designed by the late 16th-century architect Juan de Ribero Rada, following the Herrerian models that had already been established in the city with the project for the Cathedral of the Assumption in Valladolid, and also influenced by the Italian architect Palladio. Highlights within this space include the Chapel of the Counts of Fuensalda\u00f1a and the Gil de Honta\u00f1on Hall, from the latter of which part of a mural painting has been recovered.
