The building stands out for its unity of style and for its linear, orderly and harmonious appearance, which resonates with the classic echo of Roman palaces. Surrounded by more than 600 hectares of highly biodiverse forest, the Italian-style palace was unused for more than a hundred years and has only been occupied on two occasions: by Francisco de As\u00eds in the second half of the 19th century and by Alfonso XII after the death of his wife. Despite the sobriety of its exterior, its interior is one of the most important examples of Baroque architecture in Spain.
