The mestizo Jaqui Joe (Burt Reynolds) is arrested in a town in Mexico where the natives are persecuted and unfairly executed by a corrupt army. Joe has just robbed a bank and with the stolen $6,000 he bought 100 rifles that he hid, with the intention of delivering them to the natives so they can defend themselves. A black sheriff (Jim Brown) who is looking for him for the robbery will flee with him, and then they will join a revolutionary (Raquel Welch) who is chasing the rifles to start the fight.
