Film in Castilla y León

Locations

The Community of Castilla y León is an ideal setting for filming audiovisual works —both for film and television— due to its variety of landscapes, its rich historical heritage, and the beauty and surprise of its traditions.

Its historic and unique buildings are photogenic and striking, a great tool for cinematographers and set designers. Castilla y León’s greatest value is its history and cultural heritage, a history full of wealth. Its name establishes clear reference to its origins: a land full of castles (Castilla) that have been preserved since the Middle Ages, and where the Legio VII (León) of the Roman Empire settled. It is a land that still preserves important Roman vestiges (the Segovia Aqueduct), which has medieval towns (Pedraza) and walled cities (Ávila) in perfect conditions. A place where you can see all the European artistic styles (Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassicism, Modernism…); in many cases with beautiful Germanic, Arabic, Hebrew, Flemish, Native American, Italian or French influences.
