Film adaptation of the musical under the same title that premiered on Broadway in 1960. It is avbout the legendary story of the medieval kingdom of Camelot. The French knight Lancelot du Lac or Lancelot del Lago (Franco Nero) arrives at the court of King Arthur (Richard Harris) to join the Order of the Round Table, recently created by the English monarch. Lancelot falls in love with Queen Guinevere (Vanessa Redgrave) and her love is reciprocated. When Arthur finds out, he goes into a rage and destroys the famous table.
