The Sánchez family, humble scrap dealers, traveled through Extremadura during the 1960s. Their peaceful existence was cut short with the death of their mother. The son, Eleuterio Sánchez, “El Lute”, steals some chickens and is sentenced to six months in jail. Five years later, in 1965, “el Lute” is arrested after robbing a jewelry store in Madrid in which a security guard dies. Although at first he is sentenced to death, the sentence is commuted to life imprisonment. However, “el Lute” escapes during the transfer to the prison, thus beginning a constant run fleeing from the civil guard.
