The zarzuela La del Soto del Parral tells the story of Germán and Aurora, a farmer-couple in Segovia in the mid-19th century, whose relationship is threatened by a misunderstanding and the appearance of Miguel, the son of the estate’s former owner. Miguel is engaged to Ángela, but Germán, aware of a secret involving Miguel and Ángela, tries to prevent the wedding, generating jealousy and mistrust in his wife, Aurora, and Miguel. The plot is complicated by the intervention of Uncle Prudencio, a character seeking inspiration for his romances, further complicating the situation.
