Early 16th century. Following the death of Isabella the Catholic in 1504, a period of uncertainty began, marked by power struggles between Ferdinand the Catholic and Philip the Fair. The main victim was Juana the Mad, Isabella’s daughter and legitimate heir to the throne of Castille.
