1950s. A tragic and harsh vision of rural and deep Castile, through a gallery of characters who fiercely defend their freedom and constitute an altarpiece of raw and vibrant humanity, whose very existence seems determined by the cycles of nature and the geographical and social environment in which they live. Among them, Nani stands out, a child with no more education than that provided by the natural environment where he was born, and who lives with his father in a cave, both dedicated to hunting water rats, the only means of subsistence they know. But when someone tries to deprive them of their shelter and their livelihood, violence breaks out uncontrollably, and tragedy is inevitable.
