Almenar de Soria, located in the area known as "Campo de Gómara", has the best preserved castle in the province. The castle, declared a heritage site in 1949, was built by the Bravo de Saravia lineage at the end of the 15th century and beginning of the 16th century on the site of an older one, of which remains are still preserved. It originally belonged to the Bravo de Laguna and Saravias y Ríos families, whose coats of arms still remain in the building. It consists of a double walled enclosure with a square plan, reinforced at the corners with cylindrical towers.
