The Church of Santo Domingo is one of the most prominent monuments in the city of Soria, declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931. Its splendid western façade stands out, considered one of the most beautiful of the Spanish Romanesque. It was commissioned by King Alfonso VIII at the end of the 12th century, an authentic representation of the Bible in stone, in order to bring the Christian religion closer to a population, mostly illiterate.
