Pesquera de Ebro

Non-urban spaces

Country house, Town

The town of Pesquera de Ebro is located in the north of the province of Burgos, where the Ebro River carves its way between sharp rocks and rugged mountain ranges. Its urban layout is typical of a semi-dispersed hamlet centered around a main road. In 1993, certain areas of the town were declared a Historic Site. Its golden age coincided with the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, when several noble families settled there and built the stately homes adorned with coats of arms that lend such distinction to this small village. From this period, a striking collection of palaces and buildings bearing heraldic shields has survived to the present day, making Pesquera one of the towns with the most noble coats of arms in the province of Burgos.
