The Plaza de Viriato in Zamora is one of the most emblematic places in the city. Its current name is due to the statue dedicated to Viriato by the Zamoran sculptor Eduardo Barr贸n. It is located close to the Plaza Mayor (connected by Calle Ramos Carri贸n) and it is surrounded by important buildings such as the Provincial Council (former Hospital de la Encarnaci贸n), the Parador de Zamora (former Palace of the Counts of Alba and Aliste) and the Information and Tourism Office in the modern Las Arcadas building.
