The Plaza Mayor of Segovia - the heart of the city - is the result of the urban planning policy of the 17th century. Its appearance was modified due to the collapse of the church of San Miguel, which occurred in 1523. The church, which was located in the center of the Plaza, where the kiosk is currently located, gave rise to three small squares. It was at the end of the 19th century when the square came to life, filling with inns, hotels, cafes and shops.
