The Palacio del Cordón, one of the most interesting examples of early 16th-century civil architecture in Zamora, forms, along with the neighboring church of Santa Lucía, one of the most charming corners of the old city. Behind this stately home, a new, cubic building, designed by the architects Tuñón and Mansilla, has been added. Inside, the remains of the arcades from the old courtyard and part of the staircase have been incorporated as exhibition elements.
