Villalcázar de Sirga is located in the heart of the province, its municipal area situated within the natural region of Tierra de Campos, just 9 km from Carrión de los Condes and in the very center of the Camino de Santiago as it passes through this part of Palencia. Villasirga, as the town is also known, is a land of dovecotes, most notably the Palomar del Camino, now restored as the Dovecote Interpretation Center. It boasts interesting heritage sites throughout much of the area. Of particular note is the hermitage of Nuestra Señora del Río, located on the road to Arconada, before crossing the Ucieza River.
