Luis, single and middle-aged (José Luis López Vázquez), travels from Barcelona to bury his mother in the family pantheon in Segovia.He is reunited with his relatives and is housed by his aunt Pilar in her old house, where he spent the summer of 1936 and part of the war with her and her family. There, he remembers his childhood, especially the love he felt for his cousin Angelica.
