The legend tells of King Bermudo de Leon, who sent the young Pelayo to distract the Moor Almanzor for a few days in order to escape. The clever Pelayo entertained him for five days, but when Almanzor found out about the ruse, he killed him. From that moment on, he became a martyr and saint. Once a year, five people from the land of Leon meet in a hermitage to honor him for what he did, each one of them, reciting a story.
