In 1896, Villaveza del Agua is a town in the province of Zamora dominated by poverty. The miserable farmlands and the mountains make up an inaccessible frontier landscape where Garibalda, a widowed and sick woman, rules the community with an iron fist. Opposite her is Atilana, her eternal rival, who relentlessly aspires to reach the power that the tyrant holds. Feuding for many years, hatred is the driving force of their actions. The fight between these two selfish and manipulative women will drag down everyone who is by their side, although their children will be the main victims of this cursed inheritance. Neither will be able to see the consequences of their actions until it is too late.
