Quintanar de la Sierra is a populous and active town in the Sierra de la Demanda Burgalesa, which is located next to the Sierra de Neila in one of the wildest and most beautiful places in the entire Iberian System. The Cabaña Real de Carreteros, in collaboration with the city council and other entities, decided in 2009 to organize the fifth ethnographic week of San Juan to remember all those mountain-related trades, to which most of the people were dedicated in other times.
