Around the year 1000, the arrival of the Arabs of Sheikh Abengalbón disturbs the peace of a Christian population. The mayor goes too far in his attention to the enemy, despite the opposition of his daughter Sancha. Fernando, a young merchant, tries to flee with his carts loaded with wheat, but the Arabs snatch it from him. Little by little, the Muslims are prolonging their stay in the place. The peasants, encouraged by Sancha, decide to revolt, but the Arabs crush the revolt. Fernando and his father will be in charge of punishing the invaders… Inspired by Lope de Vega’s comedy The Famous Asturians.
