Sometimes comical, sometimes melancholic, but always magical and with one foot stuck in the absurd, it tells the story of the two children of Evaristo de la Sierra, who never knew their father, and whose mutual existence they were unaware of, until Evaristo sent each of them a letter inviting them to his funeral.
When the brothers find themselves at a station where the train has not passed for years, they begin their journey through deserted fields, and come across a variety of characters, such as a suicidal narcoleptic, a countryman with a serious attitude problem towards funerals, a bunch of thieving musicians, or a young girl in love with spring, all of whom try, in one way or another, to guide them through a journey along paths made of memories, stories, loneliness and dreams.
