The Basilica of San Vicente is certainly one of the most important churches in Castile, both religiously and artistically speaking. It constitutes one of the greatest exponents of architecture and sculpture of the Romanesque and Gothic periods, finding in it the entire transition from the French Romanesque of the 11th century to the Elizabethan Gothic of the 14th century.
