Benavente is one of the three most important cities in Zamora, located 71 km from the capital of Zamora and 74 km from León. It is situated on the route of the Vía de La Plata and is surrounded by the plains of La Meseta, on top of a hill from which the Tierra de Campos and the Comarca de los Valles can be seen.
