The Charterhouse of Santa María de Miraflores, located on the outskirts of Burgos, is one of the most outstanding works of Spanish late Gothic. This Carthusian monastery stands out for its church in the Isabeline Gothic style, with an elegant nave covered by a star-shaped vault and a doorway decorated with the coats of arms of its founders. Besides its artistic value, it is also an important royal pantheon, where John II of Castile and Isabella of Portugal, the parents of Isabella the Catholic, are buried.
