This emblematic sculpture of Jesus Christ is undoubtedly the symbol of the city of Palencia. Its 21 metros has turned it into the tallest Christ in Spain and one of the highest ones in the world. It bears the signature of the brilliant Palencia sculptor Victorio Macho (1887-1966), who, after recognizing this as his most important work, was buried in the crypt of the hermitage of Santa María del Otero, excavated at the foot of the sculpture.
