Town
Cortiguera is a small village belonging to the Burgal municipality of Valle de Sedano, 12 km from Sedano, the municipal capital. Located in the Hoces del Alto Ebro y Rudrón Natural Park, the town is located at the top of one of the canyons overlooking the Ebro river. From this practically abandoned village, some blazoned houses dating from the 16th to 18th centuries and the ruins of the Iglesia de San Miguel, from the 17th century in late Gothic style, are preserved.
