In the heart of the Arlanza region, on the banks of the river, stands the historic town of Covarrubias, one of the best examples of traditional Castilian architecture in the entire province of Burgos. This valuable monumental complex includes streets full of majestic towers such as that of Fernán Gonzalez, houses with coats of arms such as the Archivo del Adelantamiento de Castilla and religious temples among which the former collegiate church of San Cosme y San Damián stands out, which maintain the aroma of the great medieval splendor of the town and still preserves many of its treasures.
