Las Batuecas is a magical valley, located in the south of the province of Salamanca, very close to La Alberca. Its intricate orography, surrounded by the peaks of the Sierra de Francia, makes it a refuge for local fauna and some hermits. Even Lope de Vega himself referred to it as “a perpetual place of happiness.”
