Museo Casa Botines Gaudí

Architecture and heritage

Historic heritage, Museums

Casa Botines, located in the city of León, was built by partners Simón Fernández and Mariano Andrés, both dedicated to the textile trade. His connection with the Barcelona industrialist Eusebio Güell will decisively influence the commission to be carried out by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. Casa Botines was built between 1891 and 1893. It is a building with a quadrangular floor plan, in a neo-Gothic style with four circular turrets in the corners, a semi-basement and a ground floor originally dedicated to a shop and fabric warehouse. Above, three floors, plus another under cover, for housing.
