This imposing building, headquarters of the Provincial Council, is one of the best examples of the profound urban changes that the city of Palencia experienced during the first decades of the 20th century. Its author, Jerónimo Arroyo, designed a Neoplateresque building, in which neoclassical and Renaissance elements coexisted, along with other neobaroque influences, archetypal avant-garde buildings that characterized the design at that time of expansion and development for the capital.
