King Basilio (Antonio Vilar) has locked up his son Segismundo (Javier Escrivá) in a tower of his castle, because he believes that his birth has condemned him to a fateful fate and therefore denies him freedom. Basilio, after repenting, subjects his son to a test. But Segismundo shows himself to be a fierce and savage being when he discovers what the world is like, to which access has been forbidden, so he is locked up again. But the King can no longer prevent the people from discovering him and he frees Segismundo, thus producing a confrontation with the monarch, who is defeated. But finally, Segismundo in a show of humanity, forgives him. (La Vanguardia)
