In Valladolid, 1989, David and Layla, just starting eighth grade, share a love for the band “Hombres G.” They also have a strong mutual attraction, but David’s misguided advice from friends leads to constant failures in his attempts to win her over. Despite this, they become inseparable, always having a great time together.
Over thirty years later, in present-day Valladolid, David and Layla have not seen each other since the late ’80s, but they have never forgotten one another. Layla has become a successful film director, earning an Oscar, while David’s life has been more ordinary, devoid of fame and awards. When Layla returns to the city for an homage, they spend a week together and realize that the children they once were have not completely disappeared.
