Las Navas del Marqués is a town located in the high plains of the Malagón mountain range, which serves as a link between the Ávila mountain ranges and the Guadarrama mountain range. It is located 39 km from Ávila and 82 from Madrid. They are highlands with a cold climate, rich grasslands and oak and pine forests. Since the end of the 13th century, the town was the dominion of the House of Esteban Domingo Dávila and, from 1533, when Charles I granted Don Pedro Dávila y Zúñiga the title of marquis, it became head of the marquisate. Since the end of the 19th century, wealthy people from Madrid chose the town as the ideal place to spend their summer vacations and began to build the first chalets and family hotels.
