It is the most important museum in the city and is established as the History and Archaeological Museum of the province. It is installed in the building built for this purpose according to the design of the architect Manuel Aníbal Álvarez in 1916, inaugurated on September 18, 1919 by Alfonso XIII. The building has a lintel access porch on eight quadrangular pillars. The original was a single storey with three naves between which two patios opened. In the 80s it was expanded with a three-story building and a construction on the side of the patio.
