Cave

Located halfway between the towns of Miño de Medinaceli and Conquezuela, an open crack in some rock formations gives entrance to the Santa Cruz Cave, a magical and mysterious place dating back to the Bronze Age. Inside there are remains of a typically Romanesque barrel vault and in the background, on the floor, a basin through which water falls where sacred rituals associated with the cult of the Great Mother Goddess were performed. These rituals are engraved on the walls, some 2,300 bowls of various sizes, between 2 and 5 centimeters in diameter, and next to them are schematic human figures, perhaps dancing or praying.
