Town
Sepúlveda is a spectacular medieval town surrounded by the Duratón and Caslilla rivers. A winding environment between gorges and ravines places this town in a privileged position, which is designated as a Historic-Artistic Site. Erosion has formed very striking shapes, such as the "Silla del Caballo", very close to the Talcano Bridge. The Duratón River has also eroded and shaped the limestone as it passes through the town. The Celtiberians and Romans made use of these lands, leaving clear traces, such as the Talcano bridge or the archaeological site of "Los Mercados". In Visigothic times, Sepúlveda was populated and later occupied by the Muslims, but Sancho García recovered it definitively for the Christians in 1010.
