Shooting Locations Marketplace fulfilled the good perspectives with which it started

Compartir:

Shooting Locations Marketplace, the event for filming locations held in Valladolid on October 17 and 18, has increased this year the national and international participation of destinations, producers, localizers and companies linked to audiovisual production. Professionals from 15 countries gathered during those two days at the meeting organized by Feria de Valladolid and Spain Film Commission and sponsored by the Junta de Castilla y León and the Valladolid City Council.

Shooting Locations Marketplace fulfilled the good prospects with which it started, based on the quality and diversity of attendees and the results of previous editions. The development of the event is aimed at promoting meetings between the agents involved in the filming and for this purpose different work scenarios are articulated: an agenda of more than 950 meetings arranged based on the common interests between the destinations and the locators, round tables and conferences on issues such as sustainability in filming, tax incentives, the impact of the recent screenwriters’ strike or the use of artificial intelligence in destination location.

36 Spanish and 9 international destinations participated in Shooting Locations Marketplace: France and Brittany, Germany, Berlin-Brandenburg and Bavaria, Poland, Norway, Jordan and Egypt. The presence of private companies also increased, both those that choose to recruit filming and those that provide services for productions. Shooting Locations Marketplace es también un espacio en el que presentan sus actuaciones y en esta edición han intervenido compañías de Perú, Jordania, España, Estonia y Namibia.

The general director of Feria de Valladolid, Alberto Alonso, has highlighted the upward projection of Shooting Locations Marketplace “reflected in these numbers, which represent the incorporation of new destinations and companies. “This is possible thanks to the work and support of our partner, Spain Film Commission, and our sponsors, Valladolid City Council and the Junta de Castilla y León.”

“The increase in supply is also accompanied by the increase in locators who attended Shooting Locations Marketplace, 69 professionals from seven countries. This year we have continued working along the lines of the last edition of incorporating executive profiles, with greater decision-making capacity in the choice of destinations,” added Alonso, who also stressed that 65 percent of the localizers and producers are Americans and British, the two most powerful markets in the Western audiovisual industry.

The president of the Executive Committee of the Valladolid Fair, Víctor Caramanzana, recalled that “Shooting Locations Marketplace was born with the ambition of being a reference for professionals in the audiovisual industry and destinations, and in just two years it has grown inside and outside our borders”.

The secretary general of the Spain Film Commission, Juan Manuel Guimeráns, referred to “Spain’s competitiveness in attracting international filming, the development of the national audiovisual industry and the important role of Shooting Locations Marketplace in establishing connections with professionals from other countries. countries.” Guimeráns framed this event in the Spain Audiovisual Hub Plan for Europe, an initiative promoted by the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures.
