Based on the filming made by Orson Welles over fourteen years in many places in Spain, Jesús Franco—director of the second unit of Chimes at Midnight and his personal friend—compiled the materials scattered around the world (more than 40,000 meters of negatives) and edited the film following the instructions written by Welles himself.
This fascinating document offers Welles’ particular vision of Spain, narrated through the adventures of Don Quixote and Sancho and takes place in the mid-20th century.
